Nasdaq down around 7% YTD. Still a long way to go with Dimon/JPM suggesting 7+ interest rate hikes this year. Add to that record non-transitory inflation, US political turmoil, possible invasion of Ukraine etc, etc. Fisher basically says nothing to worry about and that current price levels "have the potential to endure" -- whatever that really means. But he has $200B under management mostly retail, and in stocks heavily weighted to US tech. Does he seriously think the market will not take a big hit with some normalisation of rates?
What is the story with UBS? Are they just short term trading this or might they be looking to take a position to make or facilitate a third party acquisiiton? Why work the price down? Is it all about shorting? The trading patterns revealed in the last year's SSH notices reflect constant same day buying and selling. Looking at the free float now that JN has sold, a takeover may not be out of the question. I'm holding long term but am curious. Cheers.
