(the only 2300 to 0600 - not 0700 - hours curfews at major Australian airports are at Adelaide, Gold Coast and Sydney. The latter for six months of the year - southern winter schedule allows two passenger flights - one QAN, the other British Airways - to arrive at 0510 hours).


"While most flights occur during daytime hours at Sunshine Coast Airport, we do operate 24 hours a day and it is occasionally necessary for some operations to be undertaken at night.

The Airport operates a Noise Abatement Procedure for commercial aviation operators. Under that procedure, we require commercial operators with aircraft greater than 5,700kg to gain prior Airport approval to take-off or land between the hours of 11pm and 5.30am.

We give careful consideration to the noise impacts these operations have on our immediate surrounding communities, while also balancing the operational needs of our airline partners and the broader economic and community benefits for the Sunshine Coast and Noosa regions..."
