The comment about 'highly competitive routes' is exactly the ACCC's point/ With REX disappearing, QAN, its subsidiary Jetstar and Unlisted Virgin Australia are free to hike fares, subject only to what they perceive the market will bear.
REX was poorly promoted and didn't advertise, and had a poor frequency except to some extent on Sydney-Melbourne and return, but its presence was an irritant to the now restored duopoly.
Unlisted Bonza was irrelevant as it didn't operate flights in and out of Sydney.
