Fair enough Jim, and you’ve been righter than me so far! Still, I’m holding on to all of my 5,400 shares. I think the fall is a knee jerk reaction to a sharp fall in bond yields, and is overdone.

Sure, investment income for 2023 will be slightly impacted, but that’s going to be (now) significantly offset by the higher returns from risk asset investments that QBE also carries (I’m writing this after the DOW has just surged to record highs). The coming profit should still be just fine, and I think when investors see the accompanying dividend, they will be drawn back in.

QBE will still make decent profits going forward (at least in normal years) with bond yields even a bit lower than where they are now…they are still a LOT higher than where they have been for a decade.I think that’s a fundamental change which will lead to a re-rating at some point.

I don’t think you will get your $12, but as you are already 1-0 up on me, I’m only trying to equalize the score with you, and maybe you are gonna go 2-0 ahead! But it is not even half time yet. Hope you DO get back in so we can cheer the second half goals together
