The share price is certainly strongly sensitive to bond yields. A moderate recovery in yields over recent weeks saw the share price recover, but it was whacked again today when yields fell substantially overnight. It’s a bit ominous given my expectation is that yields will decline significantly over 2024. The reaction to movements in yields always seems a bit overdone to me, in both directions. Something we longs might have to get used to. Still feel that yields will be high enough to support decent profits for QBE going forward.
