QBE Insurance Group Limited (ASX:QBE) has appointed Patrick Regan as group chief financial officer, to succeed Neil Drabsch who is retiring.
Mr Regan has global experience in the insurance sector, having most recently worked as CFO at British insurer Aviva PLC.
Mr Regan will take over after the departure of Mr Drabsch, who delayed his planned retirement to allow the company to find a successor.
QBE CEO John Neal says Mr Regan will play a leading role in helping to shape the future and culture of the company.
Mr Regan will be based in the company’s Sydney office from June.
QBE generated a net profit of $520.7 million in the first half of fiscal 2013.
