News: QR National secures coal haulage contract

    QR National (ASX:QRN) has secured a long-term coal haulage contract with Stanwell Corporation Ltd.



    The contract is scheduled to start on 1 July 2011 and run until the end of 2020, transporting up to 3.7 million tonnes per annum.



    The haulage will be provided from Wesfarmers Ltd (ASX:WES) Curragh mine to Stanwell Power Station, west of Rockhampton in Queensland.



    QR National and Stanwell Corporation have partnered for almost 20 years and QR says the latest contract includes commercial incentives for strong operation performance.



    In the six months to 31 December 2010 QR National recorded a net profit of $277.5 million
