After a long hunt for the right media job, Lachlan Murdoch wanted to be the chief executive at Ten Network Holdings Ltd (ASX:TEN), according to the Australian Financial Review.

Speculation has been rife surrounding the developments at the network, with the Australian Financial Review boldly stating a source reportedly close to Ten says the plan was for Grant Blackley, the former chief executive and Lachlan Murdoch to share the role, with Murdoch having the final say.

Mr Blackley left Ten on February 23rd. James Packer and Lachlan Murdoch in effect took control of Ten, according to the media report.

For the year ended 31 August 2010, Ten reported a net profit of $150 million.
