Re PS: Well, I'm a liberal imperialist, but of the very old sort (I admire the British and Roman Empires in particular). I don't mind the term 'invasion', I just want the people going into it to not do it, and just invest in science, unless they truly know how dirty it gets to succeed and are willing to go all the way to a happy ending like in Germany, Japan and South Korea - and those being nations more culturally similar to America and the West than the Global South.
Hope I haven't offended anyone.
