Well fact is they're interested in LiC2O3 - Argentina baby! Rio probably don't want hard rock with it's high carbon footprint. Truth is in the pudding at this point. They are going for battery grade lithium and it's a very difficult pathway technically too but rewarding if they can do it. Only AGY have been able to pull it off so far. The rest is mere speculation. RIO chose Argentina's part of the rich lithium triangle for their lithium investment and it is just a start. My bet is they'll stay focusses there.
