News: RIO UPDATE 1-UK Stocks-Factors to watch on April 5

April 5 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening lower on Friday, with futures FFIc1 down 1.15%.

• SHELL: Shell SHEL.L said that first-quarter trading results for its integrated gas division are expected to be significantly lower than the fourth quarter.
• ASTRAZENECA: Drugmaker AstraZeneca AZN.L said its blockbuster cancer drug Imfinzi showed "significant and clinically meaningful" improvement in the primary goals of a late-stage trial designed for an aggressive type of lung cancer.
• HOUSE PRICES: British house prices fell 1.0% in March, their first drop since September 2023, figures from mortgage lender Halifax showed on Friday, leaving prices 0.3% higher than a year earlier.
• EXPERIAN: Credit data group Experian EXPN.L said it had agreed to acquire peer illion for up to A$820 million ($542.10 million), as it taps further into a growing market in Australia and New Zealand.
• RIO: Rio Tinto RIO.L , (RIO) faced demands from shareholders at its annual meeting to come clean on environmental issues, including water and biodiversity, as the company said it was committed to achieving an "impeccable ESG" performance.
• GOLD: Gold's record-setting rally came to a halt as market focus shifted to U.S. non-farm payrolls data that could offer more clues on the Federal Reserve's monetary policy trajectory.
• OIL: Oil prices extended gains and headed for a second weekly gain, supported by geopolitical tensions in Europe and the Middle East, concerns over tightening supply, and optimism about global fuel demand growth as economies improve.
• METALS: Prices of most nonferrous metals fell amid a stronger dollar and as fund managers squared positions ahead of the release of payroll data in the United States.
