News: RIO UPDATE 1-UK Stocks-Factors to watch on Feb. 13

Feb 13 - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening flat on Tuesday, with futures FFIc1 down about 0.03%.

• TUI: TUI TUI1n.DE , Europe's largest travel operator, reported better-than-expected numbers in the first quarter as it swung to a profit on the back of robust travel demand.
• RIO TINTO: A self-driving train

  derailed

  at Rio Tinto's RIO.L , (RIO) iron ore operations in Western Australia, the world's biggest iron ore miner said on Tuesday.

• WAGES: British regular pay

  grew

  at the slowest pace in more than a year at the end of last year, according to official data published on Tuesday, but the slowdown was less strong than most analysts had expected.

  OIL: Oil prices rose slightly

  on Tuesday on fears Middle East tensions could disrupt supply, but uncertainty about the pace of potential U.S. interest rate cuts and the ensuing impact on fuel demand capped gains.

• GOLD: Gold prices were stuck in a tight range as investors refrained from making big bets ahead of a U.S. inflation report that could give a fresh perspective on how soon, and by how much, the Federal Reserve could cut interest rates this year.
• METALS: Copper prices were little changed as the Chinese Lunar New Year holiday weighed on sentiment and traders awaited U.S. inflation data for cues on the Federal Reserve's interest rate cuts.
• FTSE: The UK's blue-chip FTSE 100 closed nearly flat on Monday as investors braced for a data-heavy week and central bank policymakers' remarks for cues on the path of interest rates.
