Oct 20 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is seen opening lower on Wednesday, with futures FFIc1 down 0.17%.
- INFLATION: British inflation slowed unexpectedly last month but the decline probably marked a temporary respite for consumers and the Bank of England is expected to address the acceleration by raising interests rates, possibly in two weeks.
- DELIVEROO: Deliveroo ROO.L upgraded its full-year growth forecast after the gross value of its orders in the third quarter increased 58% year-on-year.
- RIO TINTO: Rio Tinto (RIO) announced a $7.5 billion plan to reduce carbon emissions by 50% by 2030, a reduction three times greater than its previous target.
- BURBERRY: Burberry BRBY.L named Jonathan Akeroyd as its new chief executive officer from next April.
- PAGEGROUP: PageGroup Plc PAGE.L said David Lowden will step down as chair to be the chair-designate at technical products and services provider Diploma Plc DPLM.L .
- METRO BANK: Metro Bank MTRO.L said third-quarter net loans were at similar levels to the previous quarter, as a reduction in the British lender's exposure to lower-yielding residential mortgages offset growth in consumer lending.
- THG: Online beauty products retailer THG THG.L has received a notification from founder Matthew Moulding and his wife Jodie that they are foregoing a pledge of some of their shares in the firm as collateral for a personal loan.
- BHP: BHP Group (BHP) topped a takeover offer for Canadian nickel miner Noront Resources NOT.V by billionaire Andrew Forrest's Wyloo Metals earlier this week, as the two miners vie for the key battery metal used in electric vehicles (EVs).
- ENTAIN: DraftKings DKNG.O has another month to decide on a formal offer for Entain ENT.L as the betting firms continue talks on the details of a possible deal.
- GOLD: Gold prices rose, as a slightly weaker dollar outweighed pressure from elevated U.S. bond yields and lingering fears over earlier-than-expected interest rates hikes.
- London's FTSE 100 ended higher on Tuesday, aided by gains in insurers and retail stocks.
