The SA coal asset will likely sell for what looks like a bargain relative to EBIDTA. Remember, there is significant on-going capex to open new seams and move equipment around.
GK already has an embarrassingly large pile of cash heaped around his desk. Even more makes the balance sheet look lazy and indulgent. He knows to buy only tier 1 assets. Taking up Trilogy would be just a speed bump. We all might have to wait for the next inevitable commodities price downturn.
S32 is turning itself into a quality global metals house and it is a pleasure to be along for the ride.
