BHP has no use for 40% of S32's Manganese business if it wins AAL. It would appreciate a quick clean exit for cash, given the complexity it faces in divesting other unwanted bits of AAL. GK & team will happily oblige.
We dont know price, suppressed by cyclone damage to Groote Eylandt.
S32 emerges a stronger business.
GK would likely put his hand up for AAL's Ni mines too. He has plenty money on hand from selling Illawarra and banks would happily lend more.
