as a kid we all got measles, chicken pox and mumps... watso (just like every other kid) got measles and chicken pox - and despite the parents best endevours to expose watso to mumps, he never got afflicted with the disease . apparently it was better to get the mumps as a kid, than as an adult .. probably the same as for chicken pox and measles .
That probably goes for a whole generation watso - I remember being sent to pox parties to catch measles as a kid
measles was no big deal back then - you stayed home for a week and got immunity for life out of it
It seems it only became a big deal when they found a vaccine for it
