Sandfire Resources NL (ASX:SFR) has completed the sale of its first copper concentrate shipment from its wholly owned Degrussa Copper-Gold mine in Western Australia.
The milestone comes amid ongoing efforts to ramp up copper production at the site, and comprised just under 5 thousand dry tonnes of copper concentrate.
Sandfire says mining of stage one of the open pit is now complete, with stage two set to continue into the middle of next year.
The mineral explorer has also advised it has signed three further sales contracts for its Degrussa copper concentrate, all for up to three year terms with international trading companies and smelters.
Managing Director Karl Simich says shipments under the new contracts will commence next month as the company completed long term production and sales arrangements.
Sandfire resources reported a $23.9 million loss for the 2012 financial year.
