L1 Capital owns more than 9 per cent of St Barbara and chief investment officer Raphael Lamm and said it would be “highly disappointing” if a rival suitor to Genesis was not embraced by the St Barbara board.“I find this further revelation ... to be highly disappointing,” he said. “I call on the St Barbara board to finally enable all interested parties to be invited for discussions and if relevant, due diligence.”

But Baker Steel Capital Managers partner David Baker said he hoped St Barbara’s board could negotiate a delay to the shareholder meeting beyond June 30 to create the time and space for all bids to be considered.


So a couple of our largest shareholders are pressuring the board. I think there is more to play out here so imo it is a little premature to be firing off the voting form. Be informed as possible before committing.
