    Singapore Telecommunications Limited (ASX:SGT) has reported strong mobile customer growth for the third quarter.



    The customer base has grown 13 per cent, or just under 51 million from a year ago, reaching 434 million customers by the end of December.



    SingTel’s Australian arm Optus added 113,000 postpaid and 69,000 prepaid customers in the quarter.



    Total Optus mobile customers are up 5 per cent from a year ago.



    SingTel reported a net profit of $1.4 billion for the half year ended September 30.
