Sirius Resources (ASX:SIR) is continuing exploration at speed at its wholly-owned Nova Mining Lease and Polar Bear projects in Western Australia.
SIR has now intersected a thick zone of disseminated nickel sulphide mineralisation at Taipan from reverse circulation drilling, with further assays pending.
The initial Taipan zone has now been outlined over a strike length of 150 metres and a dip extent of over 150 metres.
Highlights included: 20 metres at 0.62% nickel, 0.10 copper, 0.02% cobalt, 0.17 g/t Pt and 0.39 g/t Pd from 113 metres.
This included: 2 metres at 1.46% nickel, 0.43% copper, 0.03% cobalt, 0.67g/t Pt and 1.69g/t Pd from 131 metres.
Taipan is highly prospective, with high grade massive sulphides having previously been identified in the first reconnaissance drillhole.
