News: Site Group opens underground mine training facility in the Philippines

  1. Site Group International (ASX:SIT) has opened the Underground Mine Training Environment at Site Skills Training in the Philippines.

The multi-million dollar environment was built with a US$1 million contribution from OceanaGold (ASX:OGC) and support from Monark Caterpillar, Mynesight, Orica, Indodrill, Immersive Technologies and Minearc.

With 250 metres of metalliferous tunnelling, the environment has been built for competency assessment and training of Underground Mine Personnel across a range of programs designed for inexperienced persons through to experienced and specialised crews.

This would allow for training that would otherwise require a working mine to stop production.

OceanaGold personnel have commenced training for the Didipio Mine in the northern Philippines.

Site Group recorded revenue of $40.7 million in FY2015, up 135% from the previous year, and net profit of $1.95 million.

The company had $2.28 million in cash as at 30th June 2015.
