Look at the timetable I posted above.
The rights can only be traded on ASX until the 14th, there is then one week to the close of the offer to allow these trades to settle and time for the purchasers to exercise the rights they have acquired..
As for the price of the rights they are worth whatever the difference is between the SMR price and $1.10 but usually will sell for slightly less so there is something in it for the buyer (otherwise why not just buy the shares directly instead of mucking around with the rights).
If you want full value you simply exercise the rights yourself.
