And a small well written article from the Australian:

Yowie chocolates are poised to return to Australian shelves for the first time in a decade after an order was received from noted sweets importer Universal Candy.

Yowie was a household name in the 1990s, with 65 million units sold a year at its peak.

During that time, the product had Cadbury branding but after being discontinued around 10 years ago, the treat has won new life with the ASX-listed Yowie Group (YOW).

The Perth-based Yowie Group has since focused on the US market and recently reported its best quarterly result on record after selling the product in 4,600 Walmart stores in December.

That success appears to have inspired Universal Candy — which distributes Warheads, Trolli and Pez products locally — to test out the Australian market once again.

The first containers are expected to depart Yowie Group’s manufacturing facility by the end of February.

“Australia was a logical choice to begin our expansion outside of the US because of strong residual brand awareness and affinity for the product,” chief executive Bert Alfonso said.

Mr Alfonso added the group planned to expand into another new market by the end of this year.
At 10.55am (AEDT), Yowie shares were up 1pc to 0.52c after spiking 7pc in early trade.
