read the recent article in the AFR where Santos are quoted on the importance of CCS, at some point past 2050 CCS is going to be crucial for getting to a carbon negative future. Australia is in a pretty lucky place with our huge reservoirs (conventional and unconventional) to store insanely vast amounts of CO2 from not just Australia but overseas. it's a pretty crucial technology and getting onto it now should reap benefits for the shareholders in the future once they qualify for carbon credits.
