Maybe the real truth lies somewhere in between... You can do anything with facts and figures.. for example. It is reported that Australia only produces ~ 1% of global emissions, but on a Per Capita Basis we produce ~ 11%.. Australia also is accused of not aiming up with foreign aid but on a Per Capita basis we are in the top 10 conrtubitors. Our migration intake is also low by world standards but on a Per Capita Basis we are one of the highest.
So we will never reach consensus and mutual agreement as long as each side uses the data to suit themselves... Human nature at work I guess.
