Reality will have some words about this almost fanatical desire to turn the clock backwards. The reality will be insufficient fossil energy supplies (notably gas, but coal and oil are there, only just out of the spotlight at present). Blackouts and brownouts, higher gas prices, will be some of that reality. It is then that more questions will be asked.

The dawn will slowly come, and the pendulum will swing. But it's taking a very long time to do so. Many humans are so gullible, so willing to believe doom and gloom. Remember Erhrlich's "The Population Bomb"; he has never conceded how wrong he was. But his doomsday forecasts were so wrong. You can look them up if you choose. Today we are feeding more people than ever, and greening the planet in doing so. Likewise with the climate doomsayers.

As for the effects of this Bowen-Bandit treaty, we'll see. But I suggest we'll see more shortages, higher gas prices, increased global demand, and solid revenues flowing yet for these oh-so-dreadful fossil fuel companies, dealing with this stuff out of the ground "where it should stay", despite its discovery and wide-spread use lifting the world from hand-to-mouth to where it is moving today. Heads in the sand, that will be forced to emerge from chilly posteriors.
