LONDON, July 30 (Reuters) - The Swedish crown rallied on Monday after stronger-than-expected growth numbers for the second quarter boosted the Scandinavian currency against a broadly cautious dollar.
The crown was the biggest mover among the G10 currencies in an otherwise quiet start to the week for currency markets, rallying more than half a percent versus both the euro and the dollar.
Against the euro the crown rose to as high as 10.233 EURSEK=D3 , its strongest level since July 9, before settling at 10.245.
Versus the dollar the crown gained to as strong as 8.7740. The crown has weakened markedly against the dollar, and to a lesser extent against the euro, in 2018 as investors expect the Swedish central bank to be one of the last in ending extraordinary stimulus and tightening monetary policy.
