It is natural and expected that the community demonstrate a level of concern. The environmental assessment however is there to assess and determine the level of impact. These assessments are further reviewed by specialists in the approving government regulatory body for accuracy/diligence etc prior to project approval.

Water is generally identified in drill holes. What wasnt clarified is was the water in the alluvium, bed rock or hard rock. Was it a perched aquifer or was it a pressurised aquifer. Did it stop flowing or did they have to cap the hole because it was a continuous flow.

Regarding threat to the pit. Every mining operation has groundwater inflow. The hydrogeologist would have quantified the amount and rate of inflow as they would have modelled all of the information from all drill sites.

Critical thinking is required here as i have experienced first hand how community and green groups will use lies in the media. Do we even know if the driller is who they say they are or that they actually worked onsite?
