Sydney Airport Holdings Limited (ASX:SYD) has seen modest passenger growth of 2.3 per cent in the first half of this year.The owner of Sydney Airport says growth from international visitors was up 4.7 per cent due to a robust Chinese New Year and Easter periods.Local events such as the Ashes and Vivid Live also increased demand for the airport’s services.CEO Kerrie Mather says the strongest growing nationalities were Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, India and Singapore showing the continued benefit of strong demand from our Asian neighbours.Sydney Airport reported a net profit of $47.1 million in the first half of the 2014 financial year.
