International traffic was up 4.4 per cent however, domestic travel was down 2.2 per cent.
Sydney airport says domestic airlines have indicated they will grow services through Sydney.
Qantas Airways Limited (ASX:QAN) and Virgin Australia Holdings Limited (ASX:VAH) have both recently strengthened their business routes.
The airport company has been considering investing in a second airport in Sydney.
Sydney Airport recorded a net loss of $279 million in the 2011 financial year.
