Sydney Airport Holdings Limited (ASX:SYD) says international traffic in March was up 8.9 per cent on a year ago.
The huge lift in international traffic was supported by early Easter school holidays, the tail end of Lunar New year celebrations and the ICC Cricket World Cup.
Outbound traffic grew by 7.5 per cent. Indian nationality travellers saw growth of nearly 40 per cent followed closely by those of Chinese extraction.
Domestic traffic grew by 4.2 per cent with all domestic airlines lifting their load factors. Events such as the Royal Easter show and Taste of Sydney festival also contributed to domestic traffic growth.
Sydney Airport Holdings reported a net profit of $57.2 million for the 2014 calendar year.
