Sydney Airport Holdings Limited (ASX:SYD) saw passenger numbers increase by 3.1 per cent in April.
More than 12 million passengers have passed through the airport’s gates this year, representing a 3.2 per cent growth rate.
International passengers grew by 2 per cent in April compared to the previous month, taking the total of international passengers to 4.2 million in the year to date.
Domestic travellers grew by 3.7 per cent throughout the month, reaching 8.1 million for the year so far.
The airport benefitted from strong demand from Asian passengers – especially from Singapore, Thailand, China and Korea.
Sydney Airport reported a net profit of $158.1 million for its 2012 financial year.
