    Sydney Airport to release masterplan

Sydney Airport’s Holdings Limited (ASX:SYD) domestic and international terminals will be integrated and surrounding roads reconfigured as part of a 20-year airport masterplan, according to media reports.

A draft plan, to be released today, sets out how the airport plans to double the number of passengers it handles annually by 2033 to 74 million.

The figure is down from previous estimates of 79 million by 2029. Last year it handled 37 million passengers.

The report plays down the need for a second airport.

Airport Chief Executive Kerrie Mather told media that it expects to be able to meet demand well beyond 2033.

Sydney Airport produced a net profit of $158.1 million in its 2012 financial year.
