Sydney Airport Limited (ASX:SYD) has reported a lift in traffic over the 2014 calendar year. 

 

The owner of Sydney Airport saw a 1.2 per cent rise in domestic traffic and a 2.8 per cent increase in international traffic for a total of 38.5 million passengers last year. 

 

CEO Kerrie Mather says Chinese nationality travellers were again Sydney’s fastest and most consistently growing market, increasing 16.4 per cent in 2014.  

 

Ms Mather believes domestic traffic growth shows robust underlying demand for air travel domestically and bodes well for airline and airport performance this year.  

 

Sydney Airport reported a net profit of $176.1 million in the first half of its 2014 financial year.
