May 17 (Reuters) - Australia's competition regulator on Thursday said it was concerned about the effects of the proposed purchase of a majority stake in the WestConnex Project by a Transurban Group-led consortium (TCL) .
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) flagged concerns about the potential effects on inter-toll road competition from the proposed stake purchase by the consortium, Sydney Transport Partners.
The regulator is assessing the proposal for the partially completed motorway development project in Sydney against the likely alternative scenario if it did not proceed, it said in a statement.
