News: Terramin Australia defines copper target at Wheal Barton

Terramin Australia (ASX:TZN) has defined a large, high magnitude, copper geochemical anomaly at Wheal Barton in South Australia.

Soil geochemistry gave results up to 3239ppm copper, and rock chip samples returned precious metal values of 4.21g/t gold and 86g/t silver, with anomalous nickel and cobalt.
 
The copper in soil anomaly is coincident with a gravity low anomaly and extends for more than 750 metres and is up to 150 metres in width.
  
Copper was discovered at Wheal Barton in 1846, and operated as a small but high grade copper mine with ore mined at an average grade of 20% copper. 

Terramin's flagship project is its 65% owned Tala Hamza zinc project in Algeria, which has the potential to be one of the top ten zinc producers in the world.

The deposit holds a total resource of 68.6Mt at 4.6% zinc and 1.2% lead at a cut off of 2.5% zinc equivalent.

Terramin also owns the Angas Zinc Mine in South Australia with an Indicated and Inferred Resource of 1.2 million tonnes at 5.8% zinc and lead with potential for additional near mine resources.

Terramin is reviewing options for reopening the Angas mine due to the strengthening zinc price.

The company is also investigating the possibility of utilising the Angas processing and tailings facilities for the treatment of high-grade gold ore from its Bird-in-Hand gold project just 35 kilometres to the north.
