gdbeech, Australia is very fortunate that following Federation it adopted a Westminster style system and that has underpinned our stable affluent and a strong democracy. It’s also that system that has permitted some perceived ills of the past to be rectified, eg giving women the vote. Accordingly we can if we wish within our system rectify or change any other issues even if only in a symbolic way. Of course its up to the people to decide within our system of government.
