Agree shoomer, just maybe the govt taking back the extremely over regulated ie price controlled and old tls fixed copper network maybe the best think for tls going forward ie clearly employees /costs will b reduced as network transferred to nbn,by memory tls suggested $1b to $1.5b cost savings over 2 or 3 years (to help part fill black hole in 2020).And as u suggest, reduced employees/workers means reduced managers to a point where the real dead wood managers will become obvious as numbers r reduced.
Not to mention tls's automation plans for mobile and fixed networks providing more cost savings, not to mention their solar plant energy cost savings.ie energy sucking data centres etc.
ps,i'm not suggesting the technicians r dead wood, just the managers ,i'm also sure the technicians will find jobs at nbn to maintain the node to premise copper but not the ex tls managers, excluding a few excellent ones but they left.
ps now they should start on the dead wood in the board room.
