Mate i suggest that you have a look at Universal Coal taking into account size of reserves and future expansion fields that offer them growth. CCC have this particular point covered very well.

I agree with your sentiment, it is hard times for Coal. I follow over 30 coal companies and not 1 is where it was 18months ago.

The most overlooked ingredient in investing is time, yes we have had the lowest world coal $ for a long time but it is changing, but too slow for some investors.Their call!
