    Vero Insurance raiding takeover target Tower Ltd: sources

    UBS's equities desk was in the market seeking to buy a stake in the under offer Tower Ltd on Tuesday afternoon.

    It's understood the bank was buying for Vero Insurance.

    UBS approached institutions after market on Tuesday, seeking to buy up to a 19.99 per cent stake in Tower at a fixed price of $1.2131 per share.

    The price represented an 11.1 per cent premium to Tower's existing takeover bid from Fairfax Financial Services.
