I think it is getting overplayed to the max by media and the politicians and sycophants. The former have to sell newspapers/advertising, and this is a great emotive story. The latter have to divert the publics gaze away from the rotten state of affairs in Brazilian politics, not withstanding impeachments, endemic corruption, lack of transparency etc etc.
I am not arguing or suggesting BHP and Vale should not be held to account, but within reason.
