End of the day the mining venture between BHP Billiton and Vale SA is a limited liability company which as we know should protect share holders. Samacro has its only management team which is responsible for the day to day running of the operations in which BHP and vale are shareholders. Samacro is its own separate corporate entity. Yeah the Brazillian government can go after assets of either company but what assets does BHP have in Brazil? Good luck trying to seize overseas assets .
So that said the Brazilian government needs to strike a deal as they know if they shut up shop on Samacro and go after BHP & Vale it will take years with no guarantee of recovering costs of any sorts .
From what i can see BHP has been and is trying to do the right thing .
As for those getting their knickers in twist and trying to act all high and mighty clearly it is the pot calling the kettle black and its time for you to get off dads computer .
