(Adds estimated value of deal, paragraph 3)
PARIS, Aug 12 (Reuters) - Brazilian planemaker Embraer EMBR3.SA is set to secure an order for eight E190-E2 regional jets from Virgin Australia after winning a competition against the A220, the smallest model of Europe's Airbus AIR.PA , industry sources said on Monday.
Embraer declined to comment and the Australian carrier could not immediately be reached outside business hours.
Such an order would be worth just under $300 million after typical industry discounts, according to estimated delivery prices from Cirium Ascend.
