News: UPDATE 2-Russian wheat offered lowest in Egypt's wheat tender

    DUBAI/HAMBURG, Jan 14 (Reuters) - The lowest offer in the international tender from Egypt's state commodities buyer GASC to buy wheat on Tuesday was $235.30 a tonne FOB for wheat sourced from Russia, traders said.

    The offer was submitted by trading house Posco International. Russian wheat was also cheapest with ocean shipping costs included at $248.85 a tonne c&f.

    No purchase has been made and a result is expected later on Tuesday, they said.

    The tender sought wheat for shipment between March 1-10. Traders said they believed these offers were made on an FOB basis in dollars per tonne:

    *Posco International: 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat at $235.30

    *Solaris: 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat at $235.82 *Glencore: 60,000 tonnes of French wheat at $235.86 *Amerop 60,000 tonnes of Romanian wheat at $236.97 *Grain Export: 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat at $237.42 *Olam: 55,000 tonnes of Ukraine wheat at $237.50 *GTCS: 55,000 tonnes of Russian wheat at $238 *Nibulon: 60,000 tonnes of Ukraine wheat at $238 *Gemcorp: 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat at $238.14 *Glencore: 55,000 tonnes of Russian wheat at $243.25

    Traders said these c&f offers were made including freight (ocean shipping) costs:

    • Russian, Posco 60,000 tonnes $235.30 FOB plus $13.55 freight total $248.85 C&F
    • Russian, Solaris 60,000 tonnes $235.82 FOB plus $13.55 freight total $249.37 C&F
    • Romanian, Ameropa 60,000 tonnes $236.97 FOB plus $12.95 freight total $249.92 C&F
    • Russian, Grain Export 60,000 tonnes $237.42 FOB plus $12.90 total $250.32 C&F
    • Russian, GTCS 55,000 tonnes $238.00 plus $14.04 freight total $252.04 C&F
    • French, Glencore 60,000 tonnes $235.86 FOB plus $16.45 freight total $252.31
    • Russian, Gemcorp 55,000 tonnes $238.14 FOB plus $14.24 freight total $252.38

      No offers were reported for wheat sourced from the United States.

      In its last international wheat tender on Jan. 8, GASC bought 300,000 tonnes to be sourced from Russia, Ukraine and Romania for shipment between Feb. 18-29.
