July 19 (Reuters) - Infrastructure provider Ventia Services Group (VNT) said on Friday it had been awarded an A$564 million ($378 million) contract by the Australian Defence Force for providing firefighting services.
The six-year contract, which will begin operations this year, encompasses airfield, structural and bushfire response, emergency aid and services alike with the opportunity to extend its tenure beyond 2030, the Australian company said in a statement.
In light of the new contract, Ventia's firefighting team will grow to 370 people, including 309 qualified firefighters, it added.
