I've just clicked through to the voting page again and here's what I can report.

    1. Proxy must be appointed if voting online, either the chairman, or another appointee. Can't be left blank (I tried).

    2. If the chairman is your proxy, he (apparently) must vote your shares in accordance with your directions.

These are the words: (if chairperson is proxy) "to vote in accordance with the following directions (or if no directions have been given, and to the extent permitted by law, as the proxy sees fit)"

    3. The chairman will vote YES for any undirected proxy - I'd suggest this is only possible where holders have not already voted online (given that a proxy is compulsory in that voting format).

    4. It's not clear to me that nominating yourself as proxy and then not "attending" would cause your votes to be controlled by the chairman - although I agree this is possible interpretation.

As with everything else in this whole sham, it's deliberately confusing and misleading.

I feel like I should go back and change my proxy from myself to the chairperson - in case I can't attend the meeting (online). Having yourself, or someone else as proxy and then not attending (or having a tech problem for example) could see the chairman snap up your votes.

Anyone got any thoughts or comments?
