Smoke is looking at cash costs, but you are looking at CGT cost, if you don't claim rollover relief.
If you claim rollover relief CGT cost of WAM is actual AYS cost
I sold 11,100 WAM for 2.28, added $1,000 cash, bought 36,112 AYS @ .74 which will convert to 13,500 WAM, so I've gained 2,400 WAM for a cash cost of $1,000.
