March 24 (Reuters) - The following bids, mergers, acquisitions and disposals were reported by 1000 GMT on Wednesday:
** French supermarket retailer Carrefour CARR.PA said it had agreed to buy Grupo BIG in a deal that values Brazil's third-biggest food retailer at about $1.3 billion.
** Westpac Banking Corp (WBC) said it was in the early stages of assessing a possible demerger of its New Zealand business.
** Brazil's Uniao Quimica is acquiring a Bayer BAYGn.DE plant in Sao Paulo and some contraceptive brands manufactured at the unit for an undisclosed value, according to a statement on Tuesday.
** Wells Fargo WFC.N will sell its corporate trust business to Australia's Computershare Ltd (CPU) for $750 million, the two companies said, as the Wall Street lender shifts its focus to core operations.
