Rates move in Cycles , a numskull would have realised when house prices shot up for a couple of months and interest rates were pretty much zero that eventually rates would go high and property prices would go low.
Its not rocket science.
The deal is this < you borrowed , you wanted the big expensive house , you fell for it , you were trapped , no one else , just you.
You can not blame the Banks , the Government , The ABC ( god forbid ) the Catholic Church , Global warming , War in the Ukraine , high gas prices , Elon Musk , Donny Trump , no one , you are to blame , now do what we did in the 80s and 90s when interest rates went to 23 per cent , yep I was caught up in that , there was one way out , no coffee shops , no expensive cakes , no smashed bloody avocadoes , no take away food every night , get up off your arse , get a second job , learn how to Cook , get rid of the Bema , grow some vegies in that big back yard and ride out the cycle.
But most importantly don't whinge about high interest rates and banks , because the interest rates are not high, Jesus !! 6 / 7 /8 per cent , my first loan started at 13 and went to 18, get that second job and work your guts out like the rest of us. See you in a few years when your hands and your character is stronger , you as a person will be stronger , remember strong men create good times , good times create weak men , weak men create bad time times, bad times create strong men.
Lets go back to work Australia.. Tens years of hard work and all of this will be nothing more than a memory. And the big house will still be in your name and most likely will have doubled in value.
