The funny thing is I was just reading a book
where the term "aviateur" was used to describe
a Great War pilot.
Coincidence is a funny thing. Just another
deceptive bias, not the hand of God.
I wonder if it is only the English language
that is suffering a gender purge by the colossally
ignorant?
The Germans have Das, Der and Die as gendered
definite articles. Getting my head around that
fifty odd years ago in school was no fun. The
"rules" seemed entirely random.
How could you speak French or Italian without
gender? Its easy to be caught out by a non-western
person's name ending in "a" leading one to assume the
owner of the name is a female. It makes for some
embarrassing, and funny, e-mails.
Rex Harrison was never more correct.
